What’s New on Sportlots – December 18 Update

We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to make Sportlots easier, faster, and more enjoyable to use. On December 18th, we’ll be releasing a number of enhancements to the shopping cart, Seller’s Loot, payments, Make-an-Offer, and more.

Important: All of the enhancements described below apply to Fixed Price Store orders only. Auction orders and auction workflows will continue to operate exactly as they do today until we can make future updates to the auction orders process.

These updates are designed to:

  • Make it easier to build orders from multiple sellers
  • Give you more control over what you buy now versus later
  • Help you use your Seller’s Loot automatically
  • Speed up order processing and reduce delays

1. New Shopping Cart Experience

We’ve redesigned the shopping cart to give you more flexibility, speed, and control.

Save for Later

  • Move items from your shopping cart into a “Save for Later” area.
  • Purchase some cards now while keeping others set aside for a future order.
  • Easily move “Save for Later” items back into your cart when you’re ready to buy.

Group by Seller / Group by Set

  • View and manage your cart by Seller or by Set.
  • Quickly see what you’re buying from each seller or each set.
  • Move whole groups of cards to or from “Save for Later” in just a couple of clicks.

Vacation Handling

  • If a seller goes on vacation, items from that seller automatically move into your “Save for Later” area.
  • When the seller comes off vacation, those items automatically move back into your cart.
  • This keeps your cart accurate without you needing to track seller availability.

Faster Cart Load Times

  • Large shopping carts now load significantly faster than before.
  • Backend processing improvements allow carts with many items to open quickly and smoothly.
  • This makes reviewing, editing, and checking out from big carts much more efficient.

2. Smarter Checkout and Payment Flow

We've made important updates to how checkout and payments work, especially for orders paid with Sportlots Credit.

New! Direct Credit Card Payments Now Accepted

  • You can now pay directly with a credit card at checkout — no PayPal account required.
  • Credit Cards can also be used to add Sportlots Credit to your account for quick future purchases.
  • This provides a faster, easier, and more flexible checkout experience.
  • Orders paid with Sportlots Credit can be processed immediately, helping sellers ship faster.
  • Pre-loading credit makes checkout smoother and reduces payment issues.

3. Better Use of Seller’s Loot

Seller’s Loot has been improved so that it’s easier to understand and more likely to be used.

Automatic Application

  • You no longer need to manually apply Seller’s Loot.
  • When you place an order with a seller where you have available Loot, it will be automatically applied.

Availability and Expiration

  • Loot becomes available 48 hours after it is earned.
  • Loot will expire after 90 days, with clear expiration dates shown on screen.
  • Notifications are sent when Loot becomes available and when Loot is close to expiring.

Existing Loot

All existing Seller’s Loot in your account will become effective immediately on December 18th and will expire 90 days after that date.

4. Make-an-Offer and Order Flow Improvements

As part of this release and future updates, we are continuing to improve the Make-an-Offer and order review experience. Highlights include:

  • Clearer presentation of offer status and history
  • Better tools for sellers to manage and respond to offers
  • Backend improvements to help ensure inventory is available when offers are accepted
  • Support for counter-offers — both buyers and sellers can now negotiate by sending counter-offers, a highly requested feature previously missing from the system

All of these enhancements will go live on December 18th.
