You are bidding on the 1995 Topps Archives Brooklyn Dodgers 50 card lot. Topps’ Archives baseball series for 1995 was a tribute to the 40th anniversary of the Brooklyn Dodgers’ 1955 World’s Series victory over the archrival Yankees. Besides reprinting all of the Dodgers’ cards from the 1952-56 Topps sets and the 1955 Bowman issue, the Archives release included some 30 “cards that never were,” done in the styles of the 1952-55 Topps issues. Included in the lot are “Never Were” card numbers 83 Don Zimmer, 84 Roy Campanella, 88 Don Newcombe, 90 George Shuba, 112 Don Drysdale, 116 Chuck Templeton, & 124 Bob Darnell. The old larger format of the vintage cards has been reduced to the standard 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" format for the Archives versions. Cards are UV coated on each side. Each card carries its original or an “extended” card number in the normal location, plus a tiny Archives series card number at the bottom in the fine print. The numbers on cards #97-109 do not coincide with those listed on the checklist card. Cards #111-165 are short-printed in relation to cards #1-110. Short print cards included in the lot are #112 Don Drysdale, 116 Chuck Templeton, 123 Pee Wee Reese, 124 Bob Darnell, 125 Don Zimmer, 143 Sandy Amoros, 147 Karl Spooner & 157 Carl Erskine. All cards are NM or better. The lot will shipped in top loaders & sent via USPS Ground Advantage.
